You can import your data from FTM to FH. You need to export your data from FTM as a GEDCOM file and then open that within Family Historian (using the Open command on the File menu). Make sure that the 'Abbreviate Tags' option in Family Tree Maker (if you see one) is left ticked. I can't guarantee that all possible data will be transferred - it depends on what data you have and whether Family Tree Maker exports it or not. So you should check the results carefully. In particular, as regards photos - last time I looked, Family Tree Maker does not include photos in the export so you will need to transfer these separately. However, that may not be as bad it sounds:
(a) In F.H. you can insert all pictures in a folder into F.H. in one go. When you do this, FH will create one 'Multimedia' record for each picture in F.H.. You can then link each of these records to the people in the picture, which is quite fast and easy to do.
(b) F.H. lets you link each person in a picture to their particular face in each picture (a very popular and useful feature); so you would quite possibly want to re-link them all anyway, as there is no equivalent of this in FTM
Family Historian lets you use most reports as a template for your web-pages. Reports have a lot of options and are very configurable (and consequently so are your web pages).
This is a sample site (very standard - all defaults and no 'tweaking):
I am currently using Family Tree Maker Version 16 on my home computer and would like to change to Family Historian. Are they compatable?
You state that web pages can be created with Family Historian. Are there different templates that can be used? Are there examples of web pages that can be viewed?
